Morning Skin Routine

I am absolutely crazed about flawless skin because in my teenage years I was cursed with bad acne that had carried onto my adult years with slight scarring and the occasional breakouts. Because of this reason I prefer to keep the use of foundations at a minimum as to discourage future pimples from surfacing and to help keep my oily skin to a minimum. After scouring reviews and testing out a range of products I have perfected my ideal skin care routine. Here I will break down everything I do in the morning to help achieve that natural bright skin look I have been chasing after.

First I start with washing my face with this Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Detoxifying Scrub. This light exfoliating scrub is great because it is gentle enough to use daily however strong enough to clean off the grittiness I always feel accumulates overnight. There is a very light fragrance to it, nothing overpowering, and leaves my skin feel fresh and squeaky clean. I have read a few reviews and ran into the same trouble of build up that happens, which makes it so you can't squeeze out anything. I've found that this can easily be fixed by poking a bobby pin through the opening, and if you give the tube a firm downward shake after every time you use it, this eliminates that problem.
After I pat my face dry I will roll on this Revitalizing Eye Roll-On by Simple which banishes all puffiness and helps to reduce redness. This stuff has a nice cooling sensation and it not only makes me look more awake, the tingling also helps me be more awake. It is also very moisturizing and easy to apply, just small circular motions and a finger to press in any excess into the skin.
Next up is this miracle moisturizer which was the product I had the hardest time finding to fit my needs. This is the Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream which definitely makes it onto my list of holy grail products. I've had problems finding a moisturizer that would feel light and not make my skin oilier throughout the day. I used to use the Aveeno line of moisturizers but all of them were much too thick and weighted down on my face. This stuff how ever is a super moisturizing gel that absorbs and locks in moisture immediately leaving my skin soft and hydrated all day long.
The last step to my routine is applying an acne spot treatment. I alternate between two treatments, one is my handy Kiehl's Acne Blemish Control and the other is this sample sized Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum that I had received in my Birchbox. Just a small dab and my skin is prepped and ready for the day!

What does your morning skincare routine consist of? My evening skin routine will be posted soon!
