October 2013 Favorites

October went by so fast for me, I can't believe it's already November and almost time for the best holiday ever! Thanksgiving for those wondering. There was definitely a lot of experimenting this month with some new products from the drugstore and I'm pleased to add them into my favorites. I was definitely looking for quality and budget friendly and I'm pleased to have found some winners.

1.
H&M Pattern Knit Sweater. I am so in love with this sweater. I bought it in a larger size and it is the perfect chunky sweater that is so soft and warm. It also does not shed which is great because that tends to happen with H&M clothing sometimes. I love this color too, a dark emerald green which clearly refused to photograph well, and I'm already considering going back for a few more colors.

2. Benefit's They're Real! After trying this out once I was immediately hooked. Definitely pricier than all my drugstore favorites but I rationalized the purchase by going through the logic of one tube of mascara is equivalent to roughly the same cost of the two different ones I buy and apply at the same time. This stuff is truly wonderful at doing it all: volume, length, definition and curl plus no clumps!

3. Klorane Dry Shampoo. All dry shampoos are certainly not created equal. I find most of them are accompanied with an unpleasant scent and tend to make my hair feel clumpy as it strips away the oily grit to it. This one not only has a pleasant smell but it actually makes my hair feel soft and volumizes it, and it also stays feeling and looking fresh all day long. This little sample size is almost out and I'll definitely be getting the full size.

4. Garnier BB Cream. This BB Cream gives surpising almost full coverage for me and it is so amazing at moisturizing but also keeps me super matte throughout the day. The only downside to it is that it is a tad red for me so I need to dust a light layer of powder just to even out the color for me. Think it's time to write a letter to Garnier appealing to more skin tones!

5. Oreos. This has been a nightly ritual for me, eating an Oreo (or two) before bed. I've really been loving these Ice Cream Sundae ones that I found in China. I find there is less of that gritty sugar in the creme filling, and there is also a nice minty after taste.

6. Essie Toggle to the Top. This is from their new Winter 2013 Collection and really is the most beautiful and easy to work with glitter I've owned. It's a dark oxblood base with ruby micro glitter that goes on surprisingly smooth. I've been wearing it obsessively since I got it.

7. Jordana Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in Black Point. So amazingly creamy and smooth to apply and doesn't tug at the skin at all. This was just picked up at the store as a whim and I'm so glad it did because it has become my go to black liner.

8. Sephora + Pantone Universe Brushes, Blending and Bullet Crease. These actually came in a set of five brushes, but these two I just adore and I grab them everyday for my eye shadow. The bristles are so fluffy and durable and the brush itself is so pretty too!

9. Jordana Lipliner Pencil in Baby Berry. So affordable and with so many colors, I don't understand why I haven't gone after these before. I love this one in Baby Berry in particular it compliments all of my mauvey berry shaded lippies and sometimes I just like wearing it all over my lips with a gloss on top.

What are some of your favorites from this past month?
