Whole Lot of Lippies

As you can see from my recent haul I got a bunch of different lip products so I decided a post featuring some thoughts and swatches would be appropriate. I will be a doing a quick review on all of the lippies have hauled recently as I've gotten a chance to try each of them out. There's also a Nyx lipstick that I totally forgot to photograph above but no worries it will still be discussed!

Maybelline Color Whisper in Berry Ready. I already have quite a collection of these but I absolutely adore this color. It's that perfect rich berry lip color that I have been searching for that is still wearable for day time. The color is brilliant but I do wish that it was more long wearing because I do need to apply this quite often. Also it is really messy sometimes because the product is so soft it's easy to smash it down and get it all over the metal tube, so that's one drawback of this. Otherwise I think the packaging is so pretty, so sleek and small, and definitely hydrating which is a great bonus.

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie in Maverick. This is the lip gloss that has changed my whole outlook on all glosses. It's amazing and nonsticky and I pile it onto just about every lipstick or color. It's this nice rusty berry color, I've already ordered a full size in a different color because I just love this formula so much. It's definitely a thicker gloss that is a medium to full coverage but I do love it. The only thing I don't like so much is the applicator, it's kind of really long and awkwardly shaped and doesn't suck up to much gloss which is both good and bad, I mean it's not wasting it but at the same time it takes a few dips to get it all up on there.

Nyx Butter Gloss in Maple Blondie and Cherry Pie. I think I own half of these colors now. They are the perfect buttery glosses that smells like delicious candy. Super moisturizing, they are pretty sheer but can be built up to a decent amount of coverage. These are my favorite everyday glosses to grab because they don't dry my lips out at all and the brushes are the perfect size. Maple Blondie is a nice candy coral, a little brighter than I thought it would be, I was hoping it would be more of a nudey coral, but I love Cherry Pie because I am such a sucker for bright red lips, and this one is a nice candy apple color (clearly I associate candy with these things).

Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly. As stated in my Unfavorites, I'm unfortunately allergic to this gloss, however it's such a beautiful color makes me so sad! It has the nice peppermint scent to it, and is a nice shimmery mauvey strawberry. I honestly didn't feel the lip plumping action of it (besides the prickling allergic reaction), but understandably I didn't wear this one more than twice anyways.

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment. This is obviously just a tinted lip balm, so just a really pretty pink flush to the lips. This is the first time I've tried this despite everyone raving about these for years and honestly I don't get the hype of it all. I feel like my trusty old Chapstick does a better moisturizing, maybe if I continuously used this for a long time I would see a difference, but meh.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Luster in Glitzy. I love you lip crayons. This definitely has a VERY strong mint smell, not so much once it's on my lips but applying it, I almost want to stop everytime because it is so overwhelming. However I do enjoy the tingling feeling and notice some lip plumping action. The color is a nice peachy pink with some gold shimmer to it, typically I layer another gloss over this because peach isn't really my color, but I do love how this feels on my lips.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Rhubarb. I actually loved this one. A great red lip in the cutest pencil ever. I love the very minimalist packaging of this and how smooth and creamy it is drawing on my lips. Staying power of it is excellent if I don't eat or drink anything all day, but a touch up is definitely necessary after a meal.

Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Pink smells like cake! This is a pale peachy pink that almost just disappears onto my hands, so you can imagine it does look a little awkward on me. I'm definitely not a light lip person because I already like to go minimalist on my eye makeup on a daily basis so with a light lip too I'm just all washed out. A little sticky so there's great glossy staying power. I like to pat this on the center of my lip over a darker color to kind of do a highlighting accent..I have no clue what I'm trying to say here, but that.

Nars Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight. I just love the name and the packaging of this. Turkish Delight is just so Narnia for me and I just love that book. This tube is such a lovely frosty plastic (?) that I think just looks so cool. The brush is nice too, the perfect size to get it all on and not make a mess. This is such a sheer peachy pink that it has to be worn over another color to make any impact. It's pretty similar to the Laura Mercier gloss but I like this one better for being more sheer and therefore more wearable for me.

Nyx Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose. Strange pick because I'm normally not a pink person but I love this color on me! Those days I feel like being a girl, this is the color for that. It is extra creamy just as the name claims with a nice velvet finish. This is a little drying on my lips so a balm underneath is definitely necessary, and I do like wearing a gloss on top too to make it shiny, but otherwise I love it! It applies so smoothly which is fantastic and not messy at all. I love the non fussy packaging too, but it is a little bulky.

So that's it for now! I'll admit there is about another six lip products in the mail on the way to me...oops, I have a problem I know. Which color is your favorite?
