Mani Monday #6: Orly

Lesson learned, don't pick the lighter colors for these tests. This color was soo tricky to apply, it was slightly thick and gross but finally got it on and not smudged. The color was gorgeous once on, but the process of doing so was a huge pain. Orly retails for about $8 and I've only seen it in Ulta before so somebody please tell me if they see it anywhere else! I have this inkling that I may have seen it in Bed, Bath and Beyond before, but I could also be horribly wrong.

Mani Monday is a weekly feature where I put a different brand of nail polish to a 7 day test. I chronicle my activities for each day with thoughts of things that could potentially attribute to chipping my polish. I use the same base and top coat each week, and this week applied four thin coats of Orly's Jealous, Much?. There will be a full list and links to all previous Mani Mondays at the end of this post.

Day One. Nothing crazy just typing and hair washing, manicure still perfectly intact. Unfortunately I did a disgusting job of application.
Day Two. Lots of typing. Opened some perforated plastic packaging today and proud to report that my nail polish is still perfectly intact. This is such a refreshing change from elf last week.
Day Three. Typing today and did some excavating digging into a hardened sugar scrub to break off a chunk to use. Nails still look perfectly flawless, however my disgusting application job is starting to gross me out. And the sparkly hands, no I did not turn into a vampire (nor do I support the Twilight disaster), I tried out a new lotion that I wasn't aware was a shimmer one, seriously who would want something like that?!
Day Four. Today was a crazy day of running around. There was hair washing going out as well as digging through my jar of coconut oil to loosen it up. Nails are still looking pristine, I'm very impressed with Orly so far.
Day Five. Was running around a lot today too. Opened a lot of plastic wrapping and boxes since an order of makeup I bought awhile ago finally got here, but still no signs of major chipping or wearing! I'm finally noticing a microscopic chip on my ring finger on my right hand both a the tip and near the cuticles but it's seriously nothing to fret over.
Day Six. I was finally able to sit down today and write out a whole mess of blog posts. So I've been typing literally the entire day, and then also did some cleaning and organizing. There's a tiny chip on my left middle finger but otherwise still looking good!
Day Seven. There are some tiny chips along my right ring finger and the middle left finger got a little worse, the nail that was exposed from the chip actually started breaking a little, pretty sure that's just due to my nails not being in the best state from all this nail polish and not the polish itself. Nothing unusual today just typing and resisting peeling the broken nail back (which I ultimately failed, but no worries I didn't bring any polish off with me).

Final Thoughts. Goes without saying that this received an A++! It wore perfectly for seven days with virtually no chips or signs of chipping. Despite my poor application job (I literally got it all over my fingers and didn't do the greatest job cleaning it), it stuck firmly to my nails and refused to budge. This is my only bottle of a cream finish Orly nail polish so I'm hoping the rest of them out there are like this and I definitely will be picking some more up, as well as suggesting everyone else to do the same!

If you missed the previous weeks be sure to check them out here!
