Mani Monday #13: Seche

I still haven't tried the Seche Vite top coat but it's definitely on my list once I finish my OPI one. After so many rave reviews about that I had high expectations when it came to drying time with these Seche lacquers and I wasn't disappointed. It went on completely opaque in one coat and dried super quick. I picked this bottle up at Ulta for $7.50 and besides the base and top coats I haven't seen any of the colored Seche nail polishes anywhere else.

Mani Monday is a weekly feature where I put a different brand of nail polish to a 7 day test. I chronicle my activities for each day with thoughts of things that could potentially attribute to chipping my polish. I use the same base and top coat each week, and this week applied one coat of Seche's Irreplaceable. There will be a full list and links to all previous Mani Mondays at the end of this post.
Day 1. This nail polish definitely didn't level itself very well, the tiny little bubbles are driving me crazy. Even with a top coat it didn't smooth out at all.
Day 2. This new jar of coconut oil I have has been really solid and I've really had to dig into it. So far my nails are surviving nicely though so no complaints there.
Day 3. I'm sorry I lead such a boring life, all I do is work (which involved sitting at a computer typing for 8 hours), come home and work some more (again sitting at the computer typing out blogs and other things for a few more hours), and then collapsing in exhaustion. The most danger these nails face is when I'm opening up packages and the off chance that I actually cook something. So no surprise my nails are looking dandy still.
Day 4. I found a tiny chip today on my right thumb nail, I suspect this came to be since it was hair washing day, since otherwise I was deathly ill and didn't do anything crazy.
Day 5. No change, the chip hasn't even gotten worse, it has stayed exactly the same.
Day 6. I must say I'm proud of my nails, they survived a night out and typically I come home from the bars with a ruined manicure (not really sure of the correlation there but it just happens). They are still looking good, some usual wearing at the tips, but even that micro chip hasn't gotten worse.
Day 7. Still looking fine, I think that little chip was a fluke because otherwise this has not budged all week.

Final Thoughts. This seems to be a difficult polish to find and nothing particularly special about it. It was very quick drying but that are less expensive options out there (as well as using fast drying top coats) that would produce the same results. Also even though one coat was enough for the color it was not very even and there were air bubbles galore which I wasn't a fan of. Despite lasting well all week I give this polish a C simply because there was nothing outstanding out there and just many more choices I would choose before turning to this brand.

If you missed the previous weeks be sure to check them out here!
