Top 5 Blush Picks!

For the longest time I didn't understand the hype of blush. Naturally I get flushed cheeks from being cold, walking too fast, etc. etc. but after a friend convinced me to try out a blush in Sephora I was hooked. There's just something so feminine and classy about putting on that perfect shade of blush that just brings a certain sparkle and life into your face. So many blushes exist out there, a million different shades and finishes, personally I'm a huge fan of the shimmer blushes over the matte ones because I just love the sparkle when the sun hits my cheeks. You'll definitely see a trend when it comes to the blushes I go after, but here are my top 5 picks!

  • Berry lips are practically a signature look of mine, so it's natural that Milani's Baked Blush in Berry Amore would be a favorite. It looks so beautiful in the packaging, the pink marbling and even prettier on my cheeks as a kiss of pink berry. I find that all Milani blushes are heavily pigmented so just a whisper of color is enough followed by a lot of blending to escape the clown look.
  • I bought Nyx Baked Blush in Wanderlust on a total whim due to the name. Wanderlust is one of my favorite words ever, so whimsical with a lovely meaning (strong longing for or impulse toward wandering), those who have read Into the Land of Unicorns will understand my affinity towards wandering. This is a beautiful peach with just a hint of shimmer. I'll admit I use to hate peach blushes because my first experience with one was a horrible cream blush that applied streaky and thick, but ever since I met this guy, we've been in a serious committed relationship. The peach really compliments my skin tone well and looks so dainty and soft.
  • I've heard everyone and their moms talking about this blush and for around $3 I just never picked it up for some reason. When I finally did I fell in love with Wet n Wild Pearlescent PinkWhen you think pink blush, this is the one that should come to mind. It's the most perfect basic pink that everyone should own. Also shout out to the compact packaging and for coming with a brush. Even if the brush is horrible, I like using separate brushes for each blush to preserve the integrity of the color, so definitely bonus points for this one!
  • These last two are pretty similar but I would describe theBalm's Hot Mama as a rose gold peach. It's shimmery gold, bronzey pink blush (yeah I'm doing a great job describing this right now), just imagine a very ripe pink peach got a bronzey tan, and throw some very fine gold pixie dust over it, and you would get this blush. Bottom line, I absolutely adore it and just use it to death.
  • Finally is Benefit's Rockateur. I talk about Benefit products so much, over course I couldn't make a post about blushes without mentioning one! This one embodies the rose gold trend and gives you the most glowing flush ever. I find it impossible to wear too much of this stuff because it is just that beautiful (but still, don't over do it). The top layer is super glittery but I promise you it doesn't translate as glitter bomb on your face and it turns more into a soft shimmer the further down you get. Also like all Benefit blushes it smells amazing.

What are some of your favorite blushes?
