Top 5 Bronzer Picks!

A year ago I didn't own a single bronzer and today I have a drawer that is overflowing with bronzing products. My first experience with bronzer was definitely due to the fact that I am horrible at picking out the right shade of foundation and even worse about holding onto receipts. My answer to that? Picking up some bronzer to warm up my face. After my first purchase I got hooked and it was game over from there. Since that first bronzer experience I have definitely dipped my toe into the world of contouring and I just love the result. It's like an instant face lift and really exemplifies the magic of makeup.

  • The first one I have to talk about is the Physician's Formula Bronze Booster, the one that began this love affair. For a drugstore product it is quite pricey at $14, and the packaging is bulky, but the product itself is amazing. There's just the most subtle shimmer to it that gives you a great sun bronzed look. This is definitely an all over bronzer, it's very natural looking and just makes your skin glow.
  • What has to be my all time favorite bronzer is NYC Smooth Skin in Sunny. There are some complaints that it is a little orange on the skin, but it compliments my skin tone perfectly. When I'm not into doing hardcore contouring (oh yes, there is a difference in my mind) this is what I go to. Sweeping it on my temples and jawline gives a very gentle shape to my face, and it's another one that works great at tinting my too light foundation.
  • I'm not a chocolate fan at all but Too Faced Chocolate Soleil smells like hot chocolate and just brings me visions of sugar plum fairies (hello Christmas!). This is the perfect contour shade, it blends like a dream and the color is just perfect for creating those sharp shadows.
  • A great versatile bronzer is Tarte Park Avenue Princess. This is the comparable high end version of my beloved NYC, but it makes your skin oh so glowy and sun kissed. It blends out very nicely but I still prefer to use it as an all over bronze instead of really digging into the contouring with it.
  • For the days in which I'm getting serious with the contouring, it is theBalm's Bahama Mama. This will give you strong definition that really carves out those cheek bones and features. This can look really harsh if you're not careful, definitely a little goes a long way and blend like crazy otherwise you will look like a crazy person.

What are some of your favorite bronzers?
