3 Tips for Healthy Glowing Skin!

I'm not doing anything crazy here, I just want to emphasis three easy steps to achieve healthy glowing skin. A lot of you will be rolling your eyes and turning away thinking duh! these are so obvious, but I feel like it's still important to stress their importance.

Exfoliate. There is NO WAY you can get beautiful glowing skin without exfoliating! Your body is roughly made of 1.6 trillion skin cells and 30,000 - 40,000 of them die every hour! With a layer of dead skin cells masking the healthy living ones you will not radiate light. The rate that dead cells actually fall off is much less than the rate that they die and just sit there, so you got to help it out! Look for scrub or peels that contain alpha hydroxy acid, glycolic acid is a common form of this type, to really get the benefit of the polish that reveals that beautiful healthy skin underneath.

Hydrate. Let's just clear it up now, it is true that the outside of your body reflects what's going on inside. Now I'm not demanding an entire diet overhaul but drinking more water is a great step to radiant skin. Contrary to popular belief, water you drink isn't injected into your cells to plump up your skin but rather it works to detoxify your body. Skin is great at it's job of getting rid at toxins but everybody needs a little help sometimes and drinking enough water everyday (roughly the number of half your weight in pounds is the fluid ounces of water you should drink) will give a boost to those hardworking skin cells. Not a fan of plain water? Try infusing it with fruit, or drinking iced tea is a great alternative because you also get the benefits of antioxidants.

Moisturize. Dry skin looks red and ashy and not glowing at all. Another important thing to remember is the importance of moisturizing. As you hydrate your body from the inside, you need to hydrate the surface too. Two great ingredients to consider are green tea and grape seed extract which protects vitamin C from oxidizing. What's the fuss with vitamin C? Vitamin C is key to achieving a bright and even complexion.
