April 2014 Favorites

I promise, I will start wearing makeup again so I can actually have some makeup favorites. I've fallen into a rut, I'm not adventurous at all, I always turn to my usual favorites or my Project Pan items so there's a serious lack of new favorites. As usual I have a bunch of skincare/beauty favorites to share. I picked up a huge stash of theBalm goodies from HauteLook and definitely fell in love with a few of them. I've also continued my Michael Todd love affair, I definitely found a few products that I will be purchasing full sized ones, as well as a few more products from the matching line that I want to try out (Honey Mask!).
  • theBalm FratBoy. Might as well start with all of my theBalm loves. This candy coral peach blush is super pigmented but beautiful. I can see this being my go to color for summer, there's much less glitter and shimmer in this blush so it delivers a much more natural punch of color than my usual favorites.
  • theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. I don't think this beautiful highlighter ever got its day in the spotlight on my favorites because I broke my first one within a week or two of getting it. Definitely learned my lesson and I'm NEVER travelling with this. This is the most beautiful highlight ever, it sculpts soft candlelight onto your face and is just the most perfect inner corners of the eye twinkle. I'm so happy to have this back in my life.
  • theBalm Almond Microdermabrasion Scrub. This is such a luxury I'm glad I decided to pink up. First of all, delicious smell of almond with a hint of tea that is not overpowering or too chemically, followed by how incredibly soft and clean my skin feels afterwards. This is definitely added to the spa day routine as a special treat!
  • theBalm BalmShelter Tinted Lip Gloss in Valley Girl. Perfect my lips but better (because it gives me a fine gold shimmer) color for me, and I love how it's non-sticky and moisturizing too! Besides the packaging feeling kind of cheap this color is great and has a permanent home in my purse now. I know at first I said it smells like bubble gum but swatching it just now I've decided it smells more like a strawberry banana smoothie! Either way, something delicious and sweet.
  • Stila Lip Glaze in Joy. For some reason I've always hated these but thanks to Project Pan I realized I never actually used one before. This color is so shockingly bubble gum pink but it is gorgeous on my lips. The only drawback is the amount of product needed to provide more than a sheer wash so I see just a few uses out of one stick, but I've been rocking this color for a week straight now and I'm dreading the day I finish this guy up especially since I can't find this particular color anywhere, maybe it was limited edition? I got it as a present.
  • Michael Todd Honey Oat Cleanser. I've been searching for a daily face wash to use at night once all my random ones are don with and I think this is it. Pretty much fragrance free and leaves my skin super soft, like how it feels after a heavy scrub but without the scrubbing! However it does NOT remove makeup like it claims, I tried and was quite disappointed there. I'm interested in trying out more from the Honey Oat line, I believe there's a mask and a moisturizer that I would love to test out.
  • Passion Fruit Seed Oil. Now that I'm done with the Tarte Maracuja Oil I've moved on to this pure passion fruit seed oil and it's 100x better. This absorbs so much better into my skin at a fraction of the price! My skin is loving this stuff and I've definitely noticed a decrease in my oiliness!!
  • L'Oreal Erasing Balm. This stuff works just as well as the expensive stuff for about $5 at the drugstore. I love how thick it is so it doesn't slip out of my hair when I gunk it on. This has settled into my routine, trading off with my expensive Ojon deep conditioner.
  • Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. This is a repeat from last month but I'm just still so in love with this that it's worth a second round of recognition. I LOVE doing winged liner now everyday, it looks so clean and fancy. I can't wait to try out more (affordable) brands now that I've mastered the technique.
  • Vicks Warm Steam Vaporizer. I haven't done a random favorite in awhile but this humidifier has been a lifesaver! I had horrible allergies to the point where I was so congested I couldn't breathe, especially when I was sleeping, but this thing was able to clear out my sinuses and help me breathe all night. I've also noticed my skin is way softer, smoother, and feels more elastic, it's just fabulous.

What are some of your favorites for this month?
