Mani Monday #18: Nail Rock

I have no clue if this is a stand alone brand or not but I received this in a Birchbox as part of a manicure "kit". Basically it was the polish plus a tub of glitter. Together this kit sold for $10. Also the color claims that it is red, in pictures it does look more bright cherry red but I can tell you in person it is a more orange red. I feel like this would be a great polish for some jelly sandwiches which is something I will need to experiment on in the future! Otherwise it applied really nicely one coat to achieve this fully opaque color! The brush was a little wide so one swipe basically covered my whole nail and when I was going in for the sides it was hard to not get it all over my finger.

Mani Monday is a weekly feature where I put a different brand of nail polish to a 7 day test. I chronicle my activities for each day with thoughts of things that could potentially attribute to chipping my polish. I had to switch up the top coat since I ran out of the OPI one so from now on I'm using the same OPI base coat but the Elf 3 in 1 as a top coat. This week applied one coats of Nail Rock's Red. There will be a full list and links to all previous Mani Mondays at the end of this post.
Day One. Typical day. As of day one I'm a fan of this nail polish. Quick drying, one coat and clean application. Let's see how the week goes on..
Day Two. So I was scrubbing a whiteboard today (long story, not even getting into that) and my right index nail has chipped. There's also signs of my left index starting to form a chip as well as the thumb.
Day Three. Hair washing day! The polish keeps flaking off steadily.
Day Four. I'm really not doing anything crazy and it keeps chipping. I can confidently say that this is definitely a not long lasting polish at all. There are big chips on pretty much ever finger at this point.
Day Five. I wake up and there are just more chips. What am I doing in my sleep?! It was a hair washing day and more flaking of the polish. I'm quite sad since this was such an easy application and everything but it's just wearing horribly. I shudder just thinking about what a glitter mess it would have been if I wore like it was intended.
Day Six. Chip chip chip...you can see it crazy on all of my nails. At this point only my pinkies are safe from chips. This is pretty impressive how bad this is.
Day Seven. No comment, the picture speaks for itself. I haven't done ANYTHING out of the ordinary and most of these chips seem to form overnight.

Final Thoughts. What's less than an F? I give this nail polish a G. It started chipping pretty much right away and was just horrible. I'm just thinking about how if I actually topped it with that loose glitter how it would be a huge flaky glittery mess and just bad, that would be horrible. I haven't seen this stuff outside of Birchbox and all I have to say is good, stay that way because no one should be subject to this nail polish with or without glitter.
