Review: CARGO Swimmables Water Resistant Blush

These babies have been lurking in my extra makeup stash for awhile now and since it's summertime, it seems like the perfect time to pull them out! These Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blushes retail for $26.00 but I snagged them at a discount off HauteLook awhile ago. These promise to be sweatproof and weatherproof that have been tested by the make-up artists for Dancing With The Stars and they found that they stood up to hours of dancing. This longwearing formula is made to withstand moisture and is specially formulate with unique silicone-coated powder. These come in three colors Los Cabos (soft tangerine), Ibiza (shimmering hot pink), and Bali (medium rose pink). I picked up all three so onto my thoughts and swatches!

First of all let's squeal over the packaging. I've been lusting for Cargo products for awhile now just because I'm in love with the tin but I couldn't justify spending so much money on a brand that I don't hear a lot of chatter about. I was happy when they popped up on HauteLook because I was finally able to claim a few as my own.
I must say that the website nailed it with describing Bali as a medium rose pink but I feel like Ibiza and Los Cabos were different from the description in person. Ibiza is definitely a more bubblegum pink, more wearable than the hot pink it claims to be and Los Cabos is a beautiful rose gold apricot with a very soft glow. I'll admit I was hesitant to get all three at first and even just opening them up Bali seemed like the only color I would use, but I'm glad I went for it because once I swatched them they were all beautiful and very wearable.
All three blushes were very pigmented and just perfection. I can see myself wearing Los Cabos a lot in the summer because it blends nicely with my tan skin and Ibiza and Bali will be great year round. It was a little powdery at first but once I blended them out they became even.
Next was a water test where I submerged my arm into water and as you can see the finish did wash away slightly but the colors are still strongly pigmented and didn't run. Just for fun I decide to gently wipe my arm dry to see what would happen and again the colors faded somewhat but they are still very obviously there.

These will be great blushes to wear during summer because they really do survive the test of sweat and water so I'm pleased to be able to have these in my collection.
