July 2014 Favorites

Hello favorites this month! I must say that it's only a handful this month but I'm really REALLY obsessed with the things I've discovered. Most of them are skincare and random products but there's one or two makeup things in there! I think I'm starting to get out of this funk and getting back in the groove of things. My skin is slowly starting to calm down so I'm going to feel confident playing around with more makeup soon. There are just a few stubborn patches along my jawline as well as a small eruption near my hairline that just gotta go but otherwise my skin is feeling stable and somewhat normal again, hooray!
First up is a nail polish favorite and that is Essie Sand Tropez! I featured it in a Nails of the Week which you can check out here for some more swatches and thoughts so I won't get into it too much. But it really is the most perfect nude and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to use it! Probably because the first time I tried I did a horrible application job but this time around it's just gorgeous and I will be wearing it obsessively from now on.
I got real fancy this month and I tried out brow powder and remembered how much I love it! What I have is theBalm's Brow Pow in Dark Brown. This stuff does not budge and it blends beautifully for a natural look. This is so must quicker for me to do in the morning instead of messing with a pencil and I love how easily I can shape and control the brush better. This might be opposite for some people, but I don't think I will ever go back!
So my new oil fighting regiment has improved once these three items entered my life. First is theBalm Vanilla Oil Absorbing Moisturizer, stay on the lookout for a full review that will be up in a couple of days, but all I can say now is that it's slowly moving into holy grail territory. My face is absolutely loving this stuff! For touch-ups throughout the day I'm so pleased to have found a powder that is truly translucent and that is theBalm Sexy Mama Powder. It's so amazing! Many powders say they are translucent, but this stuff seriously is. No more white cast powdery cake face and it sucks up that oil like a dream. To apply it I'm obsessed with this Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush, I mean just how adorable and genius is it? These are two things that I never leave home without now!
Speaking of calming down the skin, reading the comments this may be a glorified vial of rubbing alcohol but I don't care what it is because it is working! This Clear Laboratories Vanished Serum that I received in my Ipsy bag this month is amazing! Overnight it deflated some of my HUGE pimples that despite everything refused to budge, so I'm sold. This is the sample size that came in my bag but I've already ordered a full sized one because I just can't be without them!
Last I have two somewhat random favorites. First is this Tree Hut Honey & Almond Body Scrub which I'm sure I've mentioned before but I rediscovered this stuff again and nothing else is as effective at making my legs feel soft and smooth again. I'm not even going to get into the issues I had with them lately, but this scrub is the most amazing stuff ever and I just love the smell of it. My last favorite this month has to be my Leopard Print Tweezerman Tweezers. This brand of tweezers is truly superior. I lost mine for a few weeks and had to pick some up from the drugstore and once I found this guy again, there is such a huge difference in quality! Tweezerman is expensive but it's definitely worth the splurge and your brows will really thank you!

What are some of your favorites from this month?
