What I Ate Today

Personally I love looking at pictures of food all the time and if I had a choice between Bravo and the Food Network for a week straight, you know which one would win. My Instagram is constantly flooded with pictures of food so I thought why not share everything that I've eaten in a day! I really don't follow any specific diet I kind of just reach for what I want to eat, I just believe in smaller portions of my favorite foods to regulate my diet. What I haven't pictured is all the water throughout the day, I drink roughly half a gallon of water a day which helps me stay full and reduce the risk of snacking; once in awhile I will treat myself to a small glass of apple juice when I am craving something sweet. Disclaimer now I am not the world's healthiest eater but I try! There's nothing more that I hate than going to the gym so I compensate by trying to eat better in order to maintain a bikini ready body.

Every morning I start my day with a bowl of oatmeal that has a spoonful of chia seeds mixed in and then topped with an egg. A lot of people like their oatmeal to be sweet and topped with fruit but I prefer to go for the savory. This is a great option for the morning because it's packed with protein to get you started on your day and help kickstart your body from fat storing to fat burning mode.
Lunch breaks are nonexistent for me and most days even running out to get something to go is impossible so I usually bring a lunch from home. Today I prepared one of my favorite meals which consists of a baked sweet potato stuffed with bacon. It's delicious and filling while still being semi healthy!
I had a very simple dinner tonight of some blanched green beans and homemade ton katsu. Ton katsu is a Japanese dish basically pork fried steak and besides bacon is the only way I like eating pork. Sometimes I will eat dinner with a bite of wild rice but I was feeling full today and skipped out on that.
Typically I am not a sweets person, if I want something sweet I'd rather drink juice but after dinner today I wanted some sugar so I pulled out this Ben & Jerry's Salted Caramel Ice Cream and crumbled some Caramel Tim Tams on top for a slightly guilty treat.
Is it weird that I take vitamins at night? Bedtime is preceded by a cup of tea, lately I've been loving the Republic of Tea Get Clean tea, it's delicious and tastes of vanilla and almond and helps me to feel detoxed from the day. For vitamins, currently I am taking these Bikini Ready* gummies that I received from the Vitality VoxBox and it's more like candy than vitamins!

  1. Sometimes I'm in the mood for sweet oatmeal, but most of the time I also like savory, I love oatmeal in the morning with a bit of sauteed spinach, cheese, pepper, and a fried egg. It's so filling and tasty. Glad I'm not the only one that does this!
