August 2014 Favorites

August was a horrible month where my spending got REALLY out of control (what spending ban?) but the equals to I have a TON of new products that I've been testing out and waiting in the wings. I found some holy grails to share with you guys this month and I have a feeling the coming months will have novels for favorite posts because I have so many goodies to try and (potentially) fall in love with! Most people love summer and I do too in small doses, but I'm looking forward to the nippy weather where I don't feel so hot and sleepy all the time. Anyways, mini ramble over, let's get into the products!
These two skincare products have been life changing. First up the Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Toner...it REALLY works! Read more about it in my full review here, but long story short, it's not just a sensationalized product, it's amazing at picking up all residue and my skin just drinks this stuff up! I received this Derma e Microdermabrasion product in an subscription box and it took awhile for me to get around to it. I'm familiar with this product and have had great success using the scar gel to fade away my scars from when I had my appendix taken out, but I didn't expect to be such a huge fan! This is the perfect amount of abrasion for my skin and has it feeling so smooth and soft after one use. This is such a generous sample size, but I will definitely be picking up the full size once I'm out!
I found two hair care products that I absolutely adore this month too. First up is the L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Total Repair Extreme Emergency Recovery Mask! This is basically like the erase balm that I am constantly raving about, except I like that it is in a squeezey bottle so it's a much cleaner application and I don't feel like I waste as much product. So I've been on a long quest for a good drugstore dry shampoo and I think I may have found it! This Garnier Fructis Haircare Volume Extend Instant Bodifier Dry Shampoo is pretty much thebomb.com. It smells AMAZING and so far has been the only thing that soaks up the oil while keeping my hair soft and natural looking. I have the problem with dry shampoos that cause your hair to kind of dry into a stiff block, but this stuff doesn't do that and hair remains pliable.
Now onto my last batch of random-y makeup-ish favorites I have four things in this category. First up is the Elf Lip Exfoliator which I've been wanting to try for months but it was ALWAYS sold out when I went to make an order on the site. It's cheap and effective and I'm sold. I'm also a fan of these Absolute! Nail Polish Remover pads, they are actually very effective and handy. Doesn't work too well for glitter, but basic creams and jellies, two pads removes all ten nails! I know I was just on a brow powder high but I randomly decided to try out this Etude House Brow Pencil that I received awhile back from a bag and I'm hooked. I love the brush it comes with, and the color and shape of the pencil is perfect! I think this may be my new favorite pencil that I will need to order in bulk! The last goodie to round out this batch of favorites is theBalm's Down Boy Blush. This cool baby pink is matte and just the most beautiful natural flush. Moving into the cooler months I can see this being a go to color that will compliment my slowly paling skin nicely.

What are some of your favorites for this past month?

    1. Even if it did nothing I would so use it for the smell alone, the effectiveness is like an added bonus! Is it a problem if I like sniffing my dry shampoo? LOL

    1. I'm so obsessed with a good hair mask and this is definitely a good drugstore one that works just as well as the crazy expensive Ojon one!
