Review: theBalm Kiwi Facial Scrub

After the disappointment of the Almond Scrub I decided to dip my toes in a different theBalm scrub, this one is the Kiwi Facial Scrub. This stuff comes in a nice sturdy plastic bottle with a squeeze top and with all theBalm products it is paraben-free, synthetic dye-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free & made in the USA. For $18.50 you get 6 fl oz of products, but as usual I snagged this guy off HauteLook and got it for 50% off. But spoiler alert, I would totally pay full price for this product because my skin is in love with it! It is marked as an item for all skin types and usually I wouldn't be too impressed with these kinds of products because it's an indicator that the scrubbing power will be gentle which usually doesn't cut it for my oily/combo skin but I really was blown away by the results of this scrub!
From the site:

Kiwi Facial Scrub is an oil-free, gel-based scrub with gentle granules that soften and polish the skin, uncovering your underlying radiance. Added Algae nourishes and simultaneously bonds moisture to your skin.

It definitely has an unusual scent to it, it doesn't smell bad but it's just not what you're expecting. In the bottle it has the slightest hint of kiwi but once you actually have it on your face it is a little more herbally which I suspect is the algae which is the third item on the ingredient list. It has an interesting texture which is a gel based with little micro scrubbing beads in it. I'm a huge fan of gel cleansers and I think there should be more in the world because the gel makes it easier to distribute product evenly across your face. Maybe I'm the only one with this problem but scrubs that are cream based I feel like all the beads concentrate in certain areas so I never feel like my entire face has gotten its fair share of scrub!
I am obsessed! It is just the right amount of grit that I feel comfortable using it on a daily basis but at the same time it really gets the job done! Since the beads are made from kiwi extracts and not ground up kiwi seeds it is really gentle on the skin but at the same time deep cleaned my skin. After each use my skin feels refreshed, soft, and clean. I was going to take a comparison picture of this but it seemed a little too TMI but the comparison of my weekly pore strips of before I started using this scrub and after just a week of using it was mind blowing, so besides feeling like it did a great job, there was visual proof that it is a sublime product!

A little really goes a long way with this product and it is a really generous bottle. This Kiwi Facial Scrub has definitely earned itself a permanent position in my skincare regime and I won't even hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a solid scrub even at full price!

Have you tried out this scrub before? What are some of your favorite facial scrubs?
