Unboxing: Memebox Special #37 Wake Up Makeup

Help me I have a meme addiction! I must say normally I wouldn't go for the makeup boxes but this one promised a free full sized gift I was interested in so it happened. Honestly as a sneak peek if it weren't for the free gift I would have been a little disappointed in this box!

For those that don't know what I'm talking about Memebox is a Korean beauty non-subscription box that sells boxes of surprise products curated with different themes in mind straight from Korea! Like I mean your box is shipped to you FROM Korea! These are great deals because boxes typically run between $19 - $39 (there are more expensive ones) but the value of the boxes are usually double and often triple the price you pay! There are two main kinds of boxes:

Memebox: The original box comes with a mix of 4-8 full sized products and deluxe samples.
Special: Like the original box it comes with 4-8 full sized products and deluxe samples but each of these boxes has its own theme for special occasions or events.
Superbox: Comes with their own theme and contains only full sized products.

This one is the Memebox Special #37 Wake Up Makeup which was one of the first boxes I ordered and kind of wish I didn't. For some reason I was thinking this would be more skincare and not all makeup. I'm not a fan of all makeup boxes just because I have so much makeup already and tend to stick to the same products. This cost $23 + $6.99 shipping for a total of $29.99.
From the website:

Because no matter how you feel, Meme-fans always get up, make up, show up, and never give up!

This box shipped September 19th and arrived on my doorstep October 8th. I wasn't too excited over this box hence why it kept getting pushed back in being published on my blog.
Bbia Downy Cheek Cream Blush in Downy Pink | Retail Value: $12 (FULL SIZE)
Shara Shara Glitter Pearl Powder in Bronze Gold | Retail Value: $7 (FULL SIZE)
I'm usually not a fan of cream blushes but this one is super easy to work with. The packaging on this cream eyeshaow is just adorable I didn't rip it apart to show the color because I haven't decided yet whether or not I want to keep it so therefore I also have no clue what color I got! I tried to peek in and I THINK I got Bronze Gold because it's a darker color.
Royal Natural The Original Soothing Blemish Balm | Retail Value: $43 (FULL SIZE)
I wish I was pale enough for all these BB creams I'm getting! Good thing they will have a nice home with someone in my family. I didn't even bother trying this out but I looked up swatches and it definitely looks a little grey and just wouldn't work for me.
Shara Shara Creamy Dual Eye Stick in Glam Brownie | Retail Value: $9 (FULL SIZE)
It's Skin Babyface Young Girl Gel Eyeliner in Purple/Black | Retail Value: $13 (FULL SIZE)
Basically a liner and a thicker cream shadow stick, nothing too special. The packaging on this gel liner is just adorable though! I've gotten a lot of gel liners lately I think it might be a sign that I should finally try one out.
Cheek Room Two Color Lip Gloss in Lavender & Pink Beige | Retail Value: $12 (FULL SIZE)
I was intrigued by this but I hear Cheek Room is a pretty awful brand. The idea is bizarre and I have a hard time seeing the two colors staying separated and nice so eventually this will be an awkward swirled mess. Also it's a pink on the bottom with a glittery lavender on top, how is this suppose to be a nice color??
Free Gift: Cellbydate The Galacto Zero Essence | Retail Value: $14?? (FULL SIZE)
Since this was a free gift not much information about it out there. However this is basically a bottle of magic! It's essence which is similar to toner but this one has 7 benefits: moisturizing, sebum balancing, skin texture care, soothing, revitalizing, and pH balancing. Perfect timing because I just ran out of a toner so this one can jump right into my routine.

Overall if it weren't for the free gift I wouldn't have been a fan of this box. It was exciting that everything was full sized since this was a Special box and therefore it's not guaranteed that everything is. I paid $29.99 and received about $110 in products. Note that the BB cream counts for nearly half of the value. Everything was very low value in this box but then again it was makeup and not pricey skincare. I'm pretty sure this is the last makeup one I bought (besides the lipstick box and the brows one) and I don't think I will pick up any all makeup ones again.

  1. I've been seeing Memebox pop up more often lately in blogland, but haven't checked it out for myself yet - thanks for the honest review!
