What's in my Trash?! #11

I came up with SO many empties this week to the point where I had a busy few weeks so instead of photographing the items as they become empty like I usually do I was just tossing them into this bin in a cabinet under the sink and then when I realized my empties were due to be published I opened that cabinet and there was an avalanche of products! Not only was that bin overflowing my shower was getting cluttered with products too because I would finish something in there and decide to leave it to let it dry but then consequently forget about it and it just became a vicious cycle. This month there are some bonus extras beyond my usual 15 item round up because I'm working through my subscription box samples at such an alarming pace, the extras just need to happen. I'm also starting to hit pan on a lot of my makeup which is really exciting too (I mean you've briefly seen my makeup collection, hitting pan and getting to open something new is exciting!). A lot of these empties are old (or new) favorites but I'm going to try and not repurchase things because I have a lot of options to work with right now but there will definitely be a few exceptions.

  • ReNu Lens Cleaner. There's a few odd ones in here, including this. Not my favorite contact lens cleaner so once I work through the other bottle I have I'm switching back to my preferred brand.
  • Cherry Chapstick. I bought this accidentally thinking it was the strawberry flavor, I'm not a fan of the cherry smell or taste so won't be picking this up again.
  • OPI Top Coat. This was a solid top coat but honestly I don't see a huge difference amongst them. This isn't 100% done but it started getting goopy and ruining my manicures so it was time to toss it.
  • Jergens BB Body Cream. I go through these like crazy but I love them, I always have spares and I will keep using it.
  • Holika Holika Pineapple Pudding Pack. Don't let its tiny size fool you, it had FOUR uses in it before I finally decided enough was enough and scraped out every last bit and covered everything neck up. It didn't have any dazzling results and the jelly never seemed to dry so even if I knew where to find this (this is a Korean brand) I probably wouldn't pick it up again.
  • Eos Cucumber Hand Lotion. This is a great hand lotion that smells awesome. Once I'm through with my dozens of hand lotions I've received in subscription boxes this will be the brand I pick up again!
  • Benefit's Hello Flawless Powder. Love love love this powder. I'm experimenting on drugstore powders to see if I can find a cheaper option but I have a feeling I will be getting this again one day.
  • Kater Somerville ExfoliKate. At first I loved this, its a chemical exfoliant you wear like a mask and it made my skin look and feel great. But then about 10-15 minutes after I washed it off my face turned angrily red so definitely won't be trying that again. It's hard to find something my skin disagrees with so when it does, you know it's bad.
  • theBalm's Stainiac Sample. There are so many things I hate about this and few that I love. So no, I will never buy this.
  • Hask Argan Oil Hair Treatment. A very average hair mask and not very hydrating in my opinion. Not something I will buy.
  • L'Oreal Erasing Balm. Probably the best drugstore hair mask that's out there! This is also something I stockpile just so I am never without it.
  • Equate Nail Polish Remover. It's be awhile since I've finished a bottle of nail polish remover. As usual I have no preference and just grab whatever's cheap or the first one I see.
  • Proactiv Mark Fading Pads. I really wanted this to work but of course it didn't. These pads are super wet and saturated with product though, but not something I would buy myself.
  • Hempz Sugar Lemon Squares Body Lotion. This lotion smells heavenly and it's thick and creamy. I liked it a lot and once I finish all the lotions I've received in subscription boxes (this could take literal years) I think I will pick up another bottle.
  • Starlooks Kohl Eyeliner. The hated eyeliner that just wouldn't go away. This was in my Project Pan for what felt like forever. It just smudges like crazy on me and not something I would ever buy. Sadly as I was finishing this another one of these demons came to me in a subscription box.
  • Etude House Drawing Eye Brow. This pencil has a neat angle to it plus a great spooly brush and I love it! I stocked up on this so I'm glad I have a nice stash to work through.
  • Clear Clinics Laboratories Vanished Treatment. This stuff works really well but the hygienic aspect just got to me. There were just so many mysterious floaters in it that it was starting to gross me out and making me question if using this would actually make my acne worse. If they ever repackage this stuff I would pick it up again but for now, no.
  • Michael Todd Cranberry Antiox Toner. Here's the other one that I finished. It's a toner, it did it's job, but I won't be repurchasing it.
  • Colgate Smartfoam Toothpaste. Hands down my favorite toothpaste, I just love the gel to foaming action! Until I find something that amuses me more, this will be my go to paste.
  • La Fresh Makeup Wipes. If I were to use wipes La Fresh is the brand I go for now. I got these in a subscription box and they worked just fine but usually I use the pink ones which I don't remember what they are now. In fact I just bought a few boxes of them so I'm set.
  • Michael Todd Skin Defender AHA Facial Cleanser. This was an average performing facial cleanser. The last thing I need is to buy anymore but even if I didn't have about 20 different types in rotation right now, this wouldn't be something I'd go for.
  • Beauty Protector Hair Mask Sample. This smelled amazing like yummy strawberries, but it really didn't do anything for my hair and I had to supplement with other conditioner to get enough in my hair to smooth out the tangles. Not something I would spend my money on.
  • Anna Naturals Glowing Mama Walnut Scrub. Love! This is a great creamy scrub that is moisturizing and abrasive all at once. Plus affordable! I bought a full size off Amazon even before I finished this sample.
  • St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub. This tub is massive but I'm proud to have finally finished it! St Ives was a college favorite but I've moved on to different brands and sadly won't be coming back to them.

  1. I have quite a few empties this month also. How do you like the Michael Todd products? I want to try one of their toners but I don't know if its worth the money...

    1. Do an empties post soon I love reading them! I feel like the toners were pretty ordinary personally I'm more of a fan of Paula's Choice toners which are a little cheaper too. I think Michael Todd is strong in their cleanser game though!
