Mini Indie Haul! Aromaleigh and Notoriously Morbid!

Bloggers will be the death of me. Or the death of my wallet at least! Remember awhile back when I did a Wednesday Wants post I mentioned how I was interested in trying out some indie cosmetics due to the horrible influence over at Beauty on a Beer Budget and Evolution of a Foodie? Well it happened. After some extensive research I originally chose three different companies that I wanted to order from. I wanted some eye shadows from Aromaleigh mainly because I was interested in shades from the fandom collection; I wanted to try coffin kissers from Notoriously Morbid; and finally I wanted bubbling scrubs and pumpkin butters from Haus of Gloi. Finally only two made the cut because Haus of Gloi's shipping kind of scared me so I decided to save that for another day. I ordered both of these well over a month ago and while I received my Aromaleigh order within a week, my Notoriously Morbid one only arrived a few days ago. That's okay though, both sites stated a longer turnover time due to the holidays so I fully expected them to take awhile to get here.

Let's start with what I got from Aromaleigh! So this is the Hunger Games inspired collection "Ever In Your Favor", which actually came out last year. All of the shadows were 50% so I snagged six of the color from the District collection (more everyday wearable neutrals) to try them out. I'll show some close ups followed by (awful) color descriptions and then my final thoughts below it all.
Rabid. Feral. Mad. A deep burgundy with a slight gold sheen and gold/pink sparkles.
During the Dark Days. A black with copper sparkles (makes it kind of look brown), pink and gold sparkles.
Silver Parachute. A soft nude silver (if that makes sense) with some cool blue and purple sparkles.
Act of Defiance. A gun metal grey with a ton of pink and purple sparkles.
Everlasting Credit. A slightly muted champagne gold with multi color sparkles.
Tribute Token. An earthy light green apple with red and copper sparkles.

The two colors I'm most excited about are Rabid. Feral. Mad. and During the Dark Days. These are GORGEOUS dark colors that will be so fun to play with! Tribute Token ended up being a lot more green then I thought it would be but it's definitely a color I don't have in my collection so I'm excited to have it. I got all full sized jars because I new if I got the sample baggies, even though they were cheaper, I would never use them due to my ability to make a huge mess!

Now for my Notoriously Morbid goodies!

For someone who always complains about the excess of lip balms I was surprised to find my stash running low, therefore I felt justified to pick up a bunch of coffin kissers in various scents to test out. While I was at it I added a few mini jars of eye shadows too.
Vanilla Veil. Vanilla Honey
Butchered Toffee. Buttery Toffee Crunch
Bloody Velvet Cake. Red Velvet Cake
Dean's Seductive Strawberries. Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Mourning in Paris. French Toast
Sam's Strawberry Mousse. Strawberry Vanilla Creme
Black Rainbows. Gorgeous coal black with rainbow glitters.
Velvet Hammer. A dark royal purple with rainbow glitters.
Give Me $20! A light moss green with gold, champagne and green glitters.

Black Rainbows is what really caught my eye and I just HAD to have! I'm just imagining the world's most gorgeous smokey eye using this and I absolutely cannot wait to play with it. Give Me $20 isn't something I would go for normally but the swatch online showed it really sheered out so it should be gorgeous.

And finally the free samples! I got three little baggies from Aromaleigh and two baggies from Notoriously Morbid. All these are doing is tempting me to pick up more shadows because everything is so gorgeous!
Giacinta. Bright aqua blue with a shimmer
Fata. Silver shimmer
Panem et Circenses. Pink shimmer
Ladder To Hell. A taupey mauvey shimmer with a slight purple sheen
Young Merlin. A coppery purple with a lot of sparkle

I'm so in love with everything I got and can't wait to play with it all!

  1. Welcome to the dark side! It's such a slippery slope, one minute you're like "I could use some new eye shadow", and the next you have 56 jars of pigment! (It's a great vice to have, IMO.) I'm so glad you love your new pretty indies, have fun playing with them!
