Movies in 2015!

I can't believe it's taken me until the end of March to get this post together! Movie season is fast approaching, for those who are scratching their heads right now, yes there is a movie season! The beginning of summer so starting late May is when all the big blockbusters are released, with another burst in fall. Why is it like this...no clue. But it's another great movie year with quite a few releases that I am really looking forward to, so let's list some of them off!

  • Cinderella (March 13). I'm definitely loving this move of turning classic Disney movies into movies with real people. I'm sure there's a fancy term for that but I don't know it! This movie has already come out but sadly I haven't had the chance to see it yet!
  • Insurgent (March 20). Book 2 in the Divergent series, I was seriously disappointed when I saw the trailer and realized how much they changed it from the book. I still haven't seen this either but I'm going to go into the movie and try not to mentally criticize it for straying from the original story too much and just enjoy it. No promises.
  • Avengers Age of Ultron (May 1). I'm a huge fan of all Marvel movies (except Guardians of the Galaxy, didn't love that) so the next installment in the Avengers stories is always highly anticipated by me. I'll be honest I have't even seen the trailer for this yet so I have no clue what is going on, nor do I really recall what happened last. I think I will need a dedicated marathon day where I rewatch the Avengers and also the trailers too!
  • Jurassic World (June 12). I started rewatching Jurassic Park months ahead of time, probably around Thanskgiving and everyday I wake up wondering if it is June yet. I am OBSESSED with dinosaurs and with the appearance of aquatic dinosaurs (my ultimate favorite!) I am beyond stoked for this movie. Seriously though, June can't come soon enough and this is definitely the most anticipated move for me on this list!
  • Minions (July 10). Who isn't in love with those squishy yellow creatures from the Despicable Me movies? I have not be on point about movie trailers but I hear a movie is coming out and I automatically want to see it. Good thing I have some time to go through and actually watch all these trailers!
  • Poltergeist (July 24). Strangely enough I was recently talking about the original Poltergeist movie so when I found out there is going to be a remake of it, it got added onto the list right away! This is such a classic so I'm excited to see what they are going to do with it.
  • Pan (July 24). Continuing the trend of Disney movies to real people movies, Peter Pan has to be my favorite story of all time. I'm hoping this movie will follow the real story a little closer where you learn Neverland and Peter really aren't as happy as they really are, but I will be happy with just about anything for this movie!
  • The Scorch Trials (September 18). One of my favorite series from a great author, I was a little disappointed by the first movie, it just wasn't that well made and left out a lot of important stuff, but naturally I still need to finish the series. This is the second movie and probably not something I will watch in theaters but it still is on my radar for when it is on RedBox.
  • Mockingjay (November 20). Finally Hunger Games can come to an end. I love the books and I love what the movies did with them. Even though I know what happens I'm still dreading the end slightly and I really hope they are able to do it all justice.
  • The Good Dinosaur (November 25). A PIXAR movie about DINOSAURS. I die. This was actually suppose to come out last year but it got pushed back because they wanted to rework the story line. November is a lifetime away but after having a year without a Pixar movie, I'm really looking forward to this one.
  • Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens (December 18).  HELLO STAR WARS! Okay that's all I need to say. There is a serious need to watch all six movies though so I will be doing that..multiple times.
  • Dark Places (2015??). An official release date is yet to be set but Gillian Flynn is tuning all of her books into movies! I'm glad she's doing Dark Places first because I still haven't gotten around to reading Sharp Objects. She is fabulous and dark and her stories are just amazing.
What are some movies you're looking forward to this year?
