The Lipstick Diaries #1

Here it is finally!! Awhile back I had my Journey to Minimalism post about lipstick (read it here!) where I hinted at a new lipstick centered project but only just now am I getting around to launching it. My crusty lips (ew) still are a slight problem but at this point I've decided I need to just learn to live with it and hope that they return to their original state of normalcy. The theme to my makeup collection and year in general is just loving what I have. Besides my great Asian Beauty Haul (coming this month is reviews on a ton of those products I picked up, so stay tuned!) I really haven't gone crazy buying more stuff. I've been slowly working through my collection (skincare drawers are really getting out of hand!) and enjoying the samples that I get from my Birchbox. I've gone on quite a tangent here, but today I am pleased to announce The Lipstick Diaries! As with all of my projects this will run for a few months until I either run out of products or the repetitiveness starts to wear on me but for now it will be a fun more intimate peek into my makeup collection!

So what is The Lipstick Diaries you may ask, well I'm here to tell you! As you saw in that previous post I have my products narrowed down to two small drawers and a lipstick holder. The Lipstick Diaries will chronicle my adventure to use every lipstick I own at least once! I will pick three lipsticks every month and only wear those during that month. I'm going to attempt to wear a color every single day but obviously that will get hard since I do own quite a lot of vampy dark colors that aren't so work appropriate, but we'll see how it goes! I will start each "diary entry" that will be near the end of a month with swatches of the month's picks and then starting next month I will also have a mini recap of how the three colors did for the month and whether it is something I regret keeping. As with any of these projects I start, the goal is to finish things up because I have quite a few items that I could be done with soon and those will probably be the ones I choose to showcase first.

I hope you guys are excited as I am about starting this new project because lipsticks are probably my least worn item in my collection yet I have probably close to a hundred shades still. Let's take a look at the colors chosen for April!

This month we are starting out easy with three neutral colors so they are easily wearable for any occasion. I have the Stila Lip Glaze in Dreamy, NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee, and Feminine Glossy in Flower Peach. Dreamy is a bit of a brown nude, Creme Brulee translates to a MLBB on me, and Flower Peach is a brighter coral that I'm not quite sure I'm comfortable with but we'll see!
