Daily Makeup Essentials *Updated*

I'm not sure if I've ever even written a post like this but I can tell you my makeup preferences have really changed since day one on this blog. If I remember correctly I wasn't even filling in my brows when I started this blog, and I was still ringing my eyes with black eyeliner! Oh how the times have changed. These days I value the extra five minutes of sleep so I have slipped into a comfortable makeup routine that takes me no longer than three minutes in the morning. In fact I spend more time going through my morning skincare routine than putting on makeup and getting dressed combined! Funny how times have changed and you don't even see it happening until one day you sit down and decide to write a blog post on it!

I work in a very casual work environment, in fact the norm seems to be workout clothes and I even see people wandering around in flannel pajama bottoms too! That being said, makeup is kept at a very minimum and used to just enhance my natural features. In fact if you really think about it all I really do is darken the brows and the lashes since naturally those hairs are more of a grey for me so they tend to just fade away. I've gotten my routine down to just 6 products and it's something I can easily accomplish in just minutes!

Etude House Drawing Eye Brow. I've been raving about this product for awhile now but it truly is my favorite and must have product in my daily lineup. The angle shape of the pencil makes it really easy to fill in my brows quickly while still keeping it natural, the color is a perfect match, and the spoolee is a great added bonus making this a very travel friendly product. Also due to the shape and the natural way you use it you never need to sharpen it! I guess I should mention it's long lasting too so this stuff sticks to my super oily skin and doesn't budge all day.
Milani Brow Shaping Clear Gel. I'm a convert from the Maybelline Clear Mascara with this stuff. The shape of the brush is specially designed for brows so this wins as the best brow setting gel. I like to use this to smooth out the hairs and really hold the shape of my brows, plus it works great to subtly smudge out the harsh lines from the pencil and overall give me brows that are always on point.
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara. I don't think I will ever stop using this mascara. It's the perfect final coat because it's great a de-clumping any mascara and the shape of the brush really helps to bring out the natural curl of my stick straight eyelashes. I know it sounds funny but since the brush is a thin curve shape it really helps to lift up my lashes and the mascara works great for me holding it there.
Benefit They're Real Mascara. Some people like volume in their mascara, I'm always looking for length. This mascara really lives up to its claim of giving your lashes the illusion of falsies. It works great lengthening my lashes and is the only high end mascara I will drop money on without even blinking. It is just THAT great to me. Plus I love the brush design with the spiky ball at the tip so those days I feel adventurous, it's great for applying mascara onto my lower lashline without a making a huge mess.
Urban Decay 24/7 Black Velvet Liner. Honestly I don't have a preference in black liners now that this is something I usually skip and if so it is just for tight lining so therefore I don't need anything crazy resilient. I've been going through my stash of black liners and this is the one that I've been currently using. It's a pretty decent liner, it does glide on like velvet onto my lash line so I have no complaints. It is also a true black which isn't always the case with black liners.
eos Lip Balm Honeydew. My final essential is a surprise even to myself. Sadly my lip issues have been come in full force this month and this is my latest product I have found that really helps it. I'm finding that applying lip balm less throughout the day (I know, counter-intuitive) is actually helping the flakiness, so this is the last thing I do before I dash out the door. I don't have the best impression on eos but I'm finding that the flavors aren't created equally and while I found the strawberry one incredibly hard and waxy, this honeydew one is very moisturizing and slick on my lip and is working out great for me.

So those are my daily makeup essentials. As you can see I've really cut down to the bare minimums and I'm more comfortable than ever in my skin. I say this is something I had to learn with age, but don't get me wrong I still love slapping on a full face every once in awhile just for fun! What are some of your daily essentials?
