What is this exactly? It's an organic at-home skin peel that harnesses the power of fruit-derived hydroxy acids and raw sugar cane, to create an effective chemical peel that exfoliates and brightens your skin. This helps to reduce breakouts and even out skin tone and this particular variation is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Once or twice a week you apply a thin layer over your clean face and you leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing it off.
Overall it is an excellent blend of ingredients that is designed to brighten up your skin which is something I am constantly looking for because I have a lot of unevenness due to acne scarring and not properly exfoliating when I was younger. It's great that this product is organic too!
First off, what's really different about this mask is that it is very liquid-y. My first experience with this stuff came from a sample so as a squeezey tube it was a huge mess and I wasn't such a fan of it. A regular full size of the product comes in a really nice glass jar and it was a lot easier to apply it to my face by scooping it out rather than squeezing it out. When you apply the mask you feel a tingling sensation straight away that let's you know it is working. It's important not to leave it on for longer than 10 minutes otherwise you do run the risk of it irritating your skin and causing redness. The smell was a little off putting to me at first, a mixture of lemon and sour apple but it is not a lingering scent at all.
Immediately after use I notice that my skin is softer and appears brighter. With prolonged use I have noticed that it has sped up the fading of acne scars and overall promotes a bright and even skin tone. I have yet experience the claim of reducing breakouts, but then again I have fairly acne prone skin and pretty much nothing will stop a determined a pimple from making an appearance.
This stuff is fairly pricey yet effective so it would be something I would suggest everyone to try out if they have the chance. I do not have very sensitive skin so I can't vouch for how gentle it is, but in my experience the sensitive is still fairly potent!
