Unboxing: Birchbox June 2015

It's a little sad how excited I used to be over Birchbox but I'll be honest I almost forget about these things now until I receive a shipping notification. Is it because the shipping is notoriously slow now? Or possibly because the samples just no longer excite me? I'm not sure but I'm definitely in some sort of beauty rut lately and I really need something to reignite that spark for it because this could mean the end of this blog as we know it. Seriously though Birchbox day used to be the most exciting day of the month! What I really think it is is how they advertise the items you're getting now, it's missing the excitement of the surprise for me which really just killed some of the magic.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Birchbox it is one of those monthly beauty sample boxes where they send you a box of 5-6 (sometimes even 7 with bonus extras) samples and deluxe samples. Occasionally there will be full size products too! The brands they send are all fairly high-end and they have a point system and customer service staff that just can't be beat. For $10 a month you are able to select a sample from a select group of choices and have more surprises delivered to you based on your beauty profile! Have I convinced you to sign up yet? If so I would love it if you would do it through my referral link here! Feel free to also go to if you want to look around without any strings attached to me.
The theme for June 2015 is Adventure! There were three different box designs and each one of them were appropriately summer and ombre. Their box game has been on point this year, I must find a cute way to display all of them because they really are works of art!
Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear™ Micro Water
Full Size Value: $32 for 8.4oz | Sample Size Value: $2.67
This was my sample choice for this month and even though I've been hoarding a few of these cleansing waters I have actually yet to try one out! I'm not going to lie I still don't really "get" what they are about. Can someone please explain them to me? If I'm getting it right it is basically oil free makeup remover that's also a toner, am I close? Anyways one day I will figure it out and actually try one, but for now I shall just keep hoarding them!
Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15
Full Size Value: $49 for 14ml | Sample Size Value: $10.50
I haven't had the best luck with Caudalie products and don't get me started on SPF! I'll still give this a shot though because I really need to get into the habit of using SPF more often especially with how aggressive my skincare routine is!
L. Erickson Grab & Go Pony Tube
Full Size Value: $18 set of 15 | Sample Size Value: $1.20
Just looking at these and I know that these guys won't stand a chance with my hair. I have a lot of hair and it takes a very special hair tie to be able to actually hold it all together. These are cute, they will still get used at some point but I know they won't be a go to favorite at all.
Klorane Shampoo with Mango Butter
Full Size Value: $19.50 for 13.4oz | Sample Size Value: $1.16
Klorane Conditioning Balm with Mango Butter
Full Size Value: $16 for 5.07oz | Sample Size Value: $0.94
I love Klorane and I love mangoes, so by proxy I should love these right? Usually I really hate getting shampoos and conditioners but I do appreciate that I got the full set this time, and it's from a brand that I love and actually a product I've been interested in testing out. I must say the size discrepancy for the two are strange. I know they say you should use less conditioner than shampoo but I have a lot of hair so that's never the case for me!
CLEAN Fresh Laundry Eau de Parfum
Full Size Value: $64 | Sample Size Value: $1
I want to chuck this without smelling it. I hate "clean" scents and to advertise it as something like laundry, no just no. I would hate that I got a perfume sample in my box but I got 7 samples this time around so I really shouldn't complain. I'm thinking of it as one extra product to review for points so I can't be mad at that!
Marcelle Mini Waterproof Eyeliner Travel Kit
Full Size Value: $18 | Sample Size Value: $4
It's a set of four mini eyeliners and I received one. I must say I'm glad I got the the Indigo one, which is a color that's dark enough I would use but it's still a different pop of color which will be fun.  I think it should be a goal to start wearing makeup more this summer because I'm going through my drawers and seeing a lot of fun stuff that I'm inspired to crack open!

Value of Box: $21.47
