August 2015 Favorites

Another month, another round of favorites. As much as I've enjoyed the warm weather I am fully ready for it to be fall already. I want the colder weather so my face can stop being so oily and so I can break out the boots and cozy sweaters again! In August I went on a couple of trips so I did find myself slapping on some makeup. At the same time I had a crazy busy work schedule so at the end of the day I was lucky if I even remembered to wash my makeup off. I'm definitely off my skincare routine and my skin is clearly suffering from it. This month I have a handful of makeup items, some oldies but goodies, that warrant a shout out and just some random odds and ends. Let's get into it!

  • eos Lip Balm in Coconut Milk. With a horrible first impression, I'm actually starting to find some more eos lip balms that I'm a fan of. This time around I need to talk about this Coconut Milk one. It is so lusciously hydrating and smells like a delicious blend of a vanilla coconut cupcake. I also love the rubbery striped packaging of this one making it a lot more grippy and easy to hold on to.
  • Benefit's Rockateur. It's been a hot minute since I even considered putting on blush so naturally easing back into I had to pick up one of my favorites. While it's kind of bulky to travel with I actually chose this one since it comes with a brush so I eliminated the need to pack makeup brushes with me. This is a gorgeous rose gold blush with such a nice bronzey shimmer it is just perfect for faking that summer glow with.
  • Beauty Sponge. Excuse how dirty it looks, you can just tell how well loved this sponge is by how stained it is! This no name brand beauty sponge is probably one of my favorite things in the world. It is so versatile and I love using it to apply primer, foundation and blend concealer all at once. Actually anything that is cream based this is my go to item to blend it away with. I do wish beauty sponges traveled better since I'm not crazy about packing up a damp sponge in a makeup bag at the end of the day.
  • Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. Every once in awhile I just need to call this one out since it's just such a fantastic liquid eye liner and the only one I love using. I've tried so many different liquid liners and this is the only one that has stuck around. It's the perfect size and shape to draw precise lines and the product itself is jet black and quick drying making it all around perfect. I'm happy to always pay the price for this because it really is a fabulous product.
  • em chiaroscuro stick. Here's something random I pulled out since I just didn't want to travel with my Ambient Lighting palette like I normally do. I've forgotten how much I like the highlighter side of the stick of it and how easy it is to blend and travel with. I'll have to keep this guy in mind for the the next trip I take! A little highlighter really does just brighten up your face and bring so much more dimension to your face especially when you're lazy like me and you don't always want to put on eye shadow!
  • Physician's Formula Bronze Booster. One of the very first bronzers I owned that got kind of shut to the side in favor of other ones. This one got brought with me because again it came with its own brush so it was just easy and using it reminded me how much I like the product. I'm excited to start using this more because I really have forgotten what a great bronzer it is!
  • Tweezerman Travel Tweezers. Last thing on my list is something I actually picked up while I was in Seattle. I have a pair of these mini slant tweezers already but I don't remember if they came in a case! If you're familiar with Tweezerman tweezers at all you know that these slanted tweezers are really sharp so it's not the most welcome item to come across when you're digging through a makeup bag. I love that this has a little case that it comes in and it will be something I keep for travel purposes. Also this pattern is just too cute and I'm in love.
