Nails of the Week #51: Pretty in Yellow

Little known fact but yellow is actually my favorite color. You wouldn't be able to tell just by looking since my room has a purple theme, I never wear the color yellow, and if asked to pick a color for something I usually go for teal. Yellow is one of those colors that are tricky to work with however it is what I gravitate towards when picking out patterned or designed pieces and it's just so bright and happy. It also matches with nothing making it a difficult color to wear and my room is just a whole other story. I didn't plan it but at the time when I was shopping for things, everything ended up being purple. So this week I decided to embark on a journey for yellow nails which is something I've never succeeded at. Heck I even went to a nail salon and asked for yellow nails and that ended up being the worst experience ever and now I refuse to pay for a manicure. It's not perfect but this is the best experience I've ever had with yellow nail polish so it was worth documenting.

This week I used butter London's Cheeky Chops which is one of the first butter polishes I've ever owned. It's a beautiful pale buttercup yellow, so not too shocking and perfectly appropriate for this transition from summer to fall. My previous experiences with this polish was that it was streaky and then got really thick and tacky when trying to even it out. This time around I used my handy Seche Revive to thin out the polish and then the amazing Seche Vite to just cement it all down. I'm still not happy with some of the edges but overall this is a pretty darn neat and smooth application so I'll go with it!
