Unboxing: Birchbox September 2015

Another month, another cute box design. I almost didn't pick a sample this month but last minute decided to and I ended up getting two of the selected samples in my box! Is that a good thing? Probably not since the reason I almost didn't choose an item was because I didn't like any of them! Oh well. But I got a bunch of samples this month which was super exciting.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Birchbox it is one of those monthly beauty sample boxes where they send you a box of 5-6 (sometimes even 7 with bonus extras) samples and deluxe samples. Occasionally there will be full size products too! The brands they send are all fairly high-end and they have a point system and customer service staff that just can't be beat. For $10 a month you are able to select a sample from a select group of choices and have more surprises delivered to you based on your beauty profile! Have I convinced you to sign up yet? If so I would love it if you would do it through my referral link here! Feel free to also go to if you want to look around without any strings attached to me.
The theme for September 2015 is no theme! The card simply states that the September box is for celebrating subscribers. This box was supposedly inspired by dream boards designed by subscriber. Not sure what that's suppose to mean but okay.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil
Full Size Value: $23| Sample Size Value: $2.99
This is the sample I ended up selecting. It is this tiny little brow pencil in medium brown. I love the Brow Wiz however it was horrible and pulled out my brow hairs. I still haven't found a sharpen brow pencil that I like, it's a hard thing between being too waxy or too soft, so I thought it would be worth trying this guy out.
POP Beauty POP Portfolio Eyeshadow Palette
Full Size Value: $26 | Sample Size Value: $2.16
This was another one of the sample choices and not something I would want to receive since I have a ton of palettes including really nice unopened ones! This sample came smashed which was a blessing since I don't have to worry about pawning it off or anything. Typically if I contacted Birchbox they would immediately send a replacement so I'm going to hold off on doing that since this isn't something I would have used anyways.
Harvey Prince Hello
Full Size Value: $55 | Sample Size Value: $1
I've had this sample before whether it came from a Birchbox is up for debate. Not a scent I'm crazy about even though it is a huge crowd favorite. I'm more partial to the Ageless one were it is a pleasantly soapy grapefruit. I know I have weird fragrance preferences.
100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream
Full Size Value: $25 | Sample Size Value: $7.50
Super pumped for this one. I've heard about this product and now I finally get to try it out! 100% Pure is a great brand and this caffeine eye cream is suppose to be fantastic at depuffing, brightening and filling in lines. This brand is vegan and all natural, plus this sample is going to last me months!
Davines OI / All in One Milk
Full Size Value: $30 | Sample Size Value: $11.11
Open the floodgates for hair products that I never use. Davines is a popular brand with Birchbox and nothing I've found impressive so far. This is one of those all in one leave in thingys which I definitely don't use. But good thing I know where it can find a nice home.
Davines OI / Shampoo
Full Size Value: $28 | Sample Size Value: $1.20
Davines OI / Conditioner
Full Size Value: $34 | Sample Size Value: $1.63
These were two "bonus" samples that were thrown in with the all in one milk. Again, pretty sure I've gotten them before, but these packets are the perfect travel companions since typically I don't need to wash my hair more than once or twice on a quick trip so these are the perfect things to bring and just toss. Can't really complain about getting extras here.

Value of Box: $27.59

Overall this box felt like a lot of repeats but mostly because I think I got a lot of this stuff in Ipsy bags. However I'm pleased with the eye cream and the brow pencil, and I'll definitely use the shampoo and conditioner samples so overall not a bad box!
