Unboxing: Golden Tote October 2015

I threw away the box much too quickly but VD? or VC? I can't remember the second initial of my stylist but...you get me! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Golden Tote it's a grab bag experience where you can pick 1-2 items and then you will be sent an additional 1-4 surprise items according to a style profile you fill out. There's the small tote which is $49 and you get a total of 2-3 items and then there is the large tote which is $149 and you get a total of 5-6 items. I purchased a large tote this time because I had my eye on two sweaters and this month it was a huge hit for me!

Fate Shades of Gray Sweater | Chosen Item
My first chosen item is this gorgeous kind of color block and kind of ombre sweater. In person it actually feels quite thin but when you put it on it's warm! This will be a perfect item for layering with since it's not bulky but it can provide quite a bit of warmth. When trying it on I styled this with some dark wash jeans and booties.
Skies Are Blue Weave Your Way Sweater | Chosen Item
I'm not sure how easy it is to see in the picture but this is a black sweater with weaving on the sleeves. It takes something very simple and makes it fun with this added detail. When I chose this item I envisioned wearing it with different colored skinnies. It would also be a great transition piece between summer and fall when paired with shorts.
Miracle USA Chunky Marbled Sweater in Honey | Add On Item
This month Golden Tote started a whole section of clothing that was available only as an add on item to totes. Normally I don't do any add ons but this sweater just spoke to me. Chunky and neutral colored, I just had to have it! It's actually very thick and heavy, I put it on for a few minutes and immediately started overheating. Don't let the fact that it's a little loosely knit fool you, this guy is very warm and is an excellent addition to my winter wardrobe.
Lime & Chili Voile Border Print Dress | Surprise Item
The only item in my tote that I didn't keep and only because it was a fit issue. This dress is so cute and boho(?) I'm not good with styles here. This was much too small in the chest for me but thankfully it was right up my mom's alley so she claimed it quick. The material is a little see through but nothing a slip can't fix.
Le Lis Cozy Button Detail Pullover in Olive | Surprise Item
This was one of the surprise item spoilers and I was secretly hoping for it! The one in the spoiler was navy blue but I'm glad that I got it in olive since I can pair it with some black leggings and boots. I absolutely love the buttons and the slightly cowl neckline. The material is so cozy and soft too, I can't wait for the weather to get colder so I can snuggle up in this guy! It's basically like wearing a soft blanket everywhere.
Lime & Chili Aztec Trim Top | Surprise Item
My one complaint is that I wish this sweater was a bit longer but otherwise I love it! It's definitely not something I would have picked up on my own but that's just the beauty of Golden Tote! I tried it on and immediately fell in love. The sweater is thin so it's comfortable to wear for fall and I love the striped contrast on the bottom. The nice aztec strip running down the center is nice too. I'm always looking ways to wear mixed patterns so this was a welcomed addition to my tote.
Bo Bel Leggings | Surprise Item
The only item on the fence about. If these fit correctly I would have loved them. These are leggings with some nice zipper details on the thighs plus at the ankle. They are really thick and stretchy material and fit nicely at the waist and thighs however they are much too baggy at around the ankles and calves. If they were skin tight all around I would love these. I'm figuring out if there's a way I can tailor them because they are very comfortable otherwise I may need to find a new home for these guys.
