What I Bought & What I Wish I Bought: Sephora VIB Sale

I can't even wait for my package to come before posting about it. I literally ordered this stuff minutes ago and here I am already gushing over it. Sephora recently had their VIB/Rouge sale were you can get 20% off everything for being a VIB or VIB Rouge member. Last year I forgot to take advantage of it but this year I just happened to run out of my favorite mascara around this time so it was a perfect opportunity to stock up as well as pick up a few little treats for myself. I'll admit I went a little overboard, but then I took a look at my bank account and decided I could afford to treat myself a little bit, so here we are. I'm not ashamed to admit that I spent over $200 on this haul but got a nice little discount so it's not too bad!

  • Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara. First up I bought three tubes of the world's best mascara. I'm still on the hunt for a truly volumizing mascara that I love but this is really the best for achieving those long falsies look that my short little lashes so desperately need. I find that they really lengthen and curl my lashes naturally since I"m horrible at curling lashes. If I have enough patience I can apply a few careful coats of this and really have the most amazing looking lashes ever.
  • NARS Nars Steven Klein Collaboration One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette. Still can't believe I talked myself into this one, but the packaging is so gorgeous and I only had the one repeat of Laguna that I just went for it. Four blushes, two contouring powders and a bronzer I just saw it and fell in love. These all in one palettes are just great for travelling and honestly it just makes me happy to look at them. I'm having slight buyer's remorse over this but I know that will all change once I have it in my hands to love and admire.
  • tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Skintuitive Blush - Energy. You had me at exclusive. I seriously can't give myself a budget and say go buy because that's what happened and some really random things ended up in my cart! I've always wanted to try one of these blushes and again the packaging just got to me! This is one of those color changing blushes and adjusts to your skin pH for a natural and custom pink. Honestly if it stayed this pinky peach color I would still be happy since this shade looks great against my skin. But that packaging is just to die for!
  • Formula X The Match CLIX!. Did you really think I wold make a Sephora purchase and NOT buy nail polish?! I actually got the shades for Fair to Light skintones since they looked like colors I would wear more. Smoking red, powder pink, warm vanilla, and pastel jade. I've seen these in stores and they are really cute and handy so I went for it.
  • Formula X - Electrics in Turbo. Really I can't just buy one nail polish (or technically in this case 4) so I also perused the sale section and picked up this shockingly yellow pearl finished beauty. I'm really not in love with the yellow shades I already own so fifth times the charm right?
  • First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Purifying Mask With Red Clay. Moving away from makeup and nail polish I picked up my first First Aid Beauty item. This is a popular mask that is suppose to work wonders with oily skin. As much as I love my Clarisonic it really has made my oily skin worse. I'll still use it because the acne and pore cleansing is at an all time low and high, respectively, but something needs to be done about the oil field that has sprung up.
  • Klorane Shampoo with Nettle. Last of all is this clarifying shampoo. I'm a believer in double 'poo-ing, a clarifying shampoo followed by an all purpose one, and since I only wash my hair twice a week sometimes the grease can really build up. I've read some rave reviews about this shampoo and Klorane is one of my favorite brands so it seemed worth it to drop the money on this shampoo and give it a try.

That's all for the things that I did pick up, let's take a look at the things that almost made it into the cart but I just had to veto before checking out.

  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit. The fact that this is a limited edition item for this season, it was especially hard not to buy this but I really just had to force myself to look at the Ambient Lighting palette I did have and realize it would be silly to basically have two. I wish they had an Ambient Blush palette which I think they once did because that would solve my problems and I could just buy that.
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask. People rave about this mask and it's an Allure best however it was sadly out of stock, but one day, you will be mine oatmeal mask.
  • Caudalie Beauty Elixir. This is another one of those products that I hear a lot of hype about and because I hear about it so often I'm intrigued to try it out. At the end of the day though you are just some scented tap water and I really don't see a difference in using facial mists at all so it's really ridiculous to spend a lot of money on glorified drinking water so this also had to be cut.

  1. Wow, some really great finds! I'm kicking myself for not picking up more tubes of They're Real...best mascara ever!
