First Impressions: Valentia True Glow Eye Cream & Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask

What's the difference between a first impression and a review? A review I test things for well over a month to really be able to deliver an opinion on it and a first impression is that I use it once or twice and just write about my immediate experience with it. Welcome to my first ever first impression post powered by Brandbacker! I had the privilege to receive the Valentia True Glow Eye Cream and the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask to test out and here are my thoughts!

About the Company
The Roman Goddess of healing, Valentia, relied on nature’s gifts to heal the citizens of Umbria. Whether matriarchs seeking to maintain their youthful look or farmers seeking help for sun damaged skin, Valentia used berries, herbs, barks and other natural ingredients. We also rely on all natural ingredients due to their protective, preventative and corrective powers.

Just like our namesake, Valentia Skin Care products have been formulated with natural and organic cosmetic ingredients that will repair and protect the skin.

After performing extensive research into what skin care customers find most important, we found an overwhelming demand for skin care that is natural, free of toxins and paraben-free. Natural ingredients with an organic base have proven most effective at repairing skin damaged by sun or wind, preventing signs of aging such as wrinkles, dark spots, and reversing the effects of oxidative stress on the skin.

First Impressions
First things first. I was impressed with the packaging! The items came in a standard Amazon box but I was pleased with the extra mile that came with wrapping them individually in bubblewrap. This is a strange thing to notice but the extra bit of care that came into doing this demonstrates the pride of the product. The first thing I tried was the Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask. The best way I can describe it is a creamy yellow goop. Yeah that sounds weird, just take a look at the picture.
A blend of silk protein amino acids, hyaluronic acid, sea buckthorn oil, green tea, and aloe vera, this is a recipe for deep hydration and anti-aging. I've used various products with these particular ingredients before and my skin responds particularly well to sea buckthorn and aloe vera so I was hopeful this would do some good stuff for my face. There wasn't any sort of strong smell to it, all I can really describe it as is pleasant. I'm sad to report that it didn't turn my face yellow, it was more of a moisturizing cream on my face and it wasn't one of those masks that hardens. The package claims that there might be a tingling effect on the skin which I didn't experience but it was very cooling. After about 20 minutes, as directed, I wiped it off with some warm water. I'll admit my skin didn't look instantly radiant or much different actually but it was the texture that changed. The skin itself felt a lot more plump and elastic, good indications of hydration. Due to this, my skin felt a lot smoother and overall just more healthy. This is definitely something I will want to continue using to see if it will start affecting the appearance of my skin but it's a good sign that it's packing in that extra dose of moisture.

Next up I tried the True Glow Eye Cream. This uses the power of rosehip oil and is suppose to help with wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles. I might be imagining things but I see a shadow of a wrinkle forming under my right eye, and puffiness plus dark circles have always plagued me. When it comes to eye creams, I'm looking for something that is highly hydrating but non-greasy, a combination that is surprisingly difficult to come by. This eye cream comes in a pump bottle and a single pump dispenses the perfect amount for both eyes.
What I loved about this was that it was a fairly heavy eye cream. however it was fast absorbing and non-greasy. You could feel the weight of the product however it didn't leave a slippery mess on my face. Instantly my eyes looked brighter and the skin was soft and smooth. The next morning when I used it, I found it helped with the dark circles, but most notably the puffiness. So far this has been a strong first impression and I'll keep using it to see any long term benefits.

Overall these products both gave me a solid first impression. The eye cream impressed me more than the mask did but I'm eager to both continue using them both. Thanks again to Brandbacker and Valentia for sending me these products to try out for free.
