May 2016 Favorites

So I have a small handful of products this month. I don't know what happened, I was just very on the go all month and ended up not straying from my regular routine. In fact I know I didn't keep up with my usual skincare or anything because the right side of my face decided to freak out and break out like crazy. Anyways, I did try a few new makeup products which is exciting and have some new (and old) favorites there. Let's just dive right into this.

  • MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Lightscapades. First of all just appreciate the dreamy rainbow-esque swirl that is this finishing powder. It's simply gorgeous and for paler people out there would be a lovely finishing powder. For me though, it makes a perfect highlighter. It has such a soft pearl glow to it that it just subtly highlights all the right places. This was expensive and took a long time before I convinced myself to buy it and a long time before I opened it to use it. I've used it before, but this month I rediscovered my love for it.
  • OPI in Alpine Snow. I raved about this perfect white nail polish already in my nail polish post last week so I'll keep it short. Wonderfully creamy and opaque with just two coats, the hype is real and this is a solid white nail polish in my collection.
  • Physician's Formula Mineral Correcting Powder. Another beautiful rainbow product. This time in the form of a magical color correcting powder that is actually translucent like it claims! The swirl of colors really does help neutralize any redness in my face and overall gave a more even appearance. It's very light on my face is just enough for those "no makeup day" when I just want to give my skin some help with perfection.
  • Klorane Desert Date Hair Mask. I've talked about the Mango Butter one before and loved it. Desert Date is for seriously dry hair and while I don't have that, it's always nice to have an extra dose of hydration once a month. The consistency is thick and dry in that it really tacked onto my hair.
  • Valentia Skin Detoxifying Mask. I love how this has a delicious berry smell (I think it's suppose to be hibiscus) and how it feels on my skin. This is probably what I've been using the most consistently lately and it's been really helping to draw the stuff out of my pores. This isn't one of those masks where you use it once and see a difference but it's a more gradual change with consistent use. I did recieve this free through Brandbacker but I'm not getting paid to promote this, I really do just love this mask!
  • NARS One Shocking Moment Blush Palette. I bought this awhile ago because the packaging was gorgeous but then I discovered how much I love the bronzer and a particular blush in the palette. I do love the palette itself with a nice packaging and huge mirror plus it's great to have a collection of powders to choose from. The Paloma bronzer is great was a great matte contour with a rosy undertone so it's very sublte and natural. As for blushes I loved Dolce Vita, a sort of plummy color with a slight gold shimmer.
  • Glam Glow Supermud. I've wanted some Glam Glow masks for a long time but for the price, I just couldn't do it. Then they had buy one get one free on their website and paying $34.50 per mask made a lot more sense so I jumped at that. This is for the problem skin and it's just magical. Dries out pimples so quick! I can't wait to try it out as a spot treatment too.
